Moolton Barracks, Tidworth, Wiltshire

A Distant view looking towards the barracks. Horses and bell tents can be seen in front of the barracks. In 1897 the army bought the whole Tedworth estate to use for military training. Land across the parishes of North and South Tidworth was built on for a garrison attached to Southern Military Command. The Commanding Officer took up residence at Tedworth House. Lucknow and Mooltan Barracks were built to the south west of North Tidworth church in 1905.
