Nottingham Castle Outer Bailey, Nottingham

These remains are the walls and towers of the outer bailey of Nottingham Castle. The Medieval castle consisted of 4 distinct baileys, the Upper, Middle, Outer and Northern. They were begun in 1252-1255, for Henry III. Then Edward's Tower was added in c1300, for Edward I. They were damaged in 1651 and restored in 1908.
