Old Grammar School, School Lane, Up Holland, Lancashire

This Grammar School was founded in 1668 by Robert Wathen. During the Napoleonic wars (1799-1815) this was an expensive boarding school. In the 19th century it became two schools. The Lower School was independent as an elementary school. In 1875 the Upper School moved to the present site of the Upholland Grammar School and the old building was sold.
