Palace Hotel, The Parade, Hastings, East Sussex

A view of the Palace Hotel taken from The Parade. It shows the entrance to the Ladies' Baths. Sea bathing was considered very healthy but modest Victorian ladies were not always keen to bathe in the sea so salt water baths were often built near to the beach. The unusual shaped vehicle on the extreme right of the photograph is an invalid carriage (wheelchair).
