Pithead baths at Lynemouth Colliery, Lynemouth, Northumberland

These buildings were part of a 20th century colliery (mine). The bath houses were built in 1938. This was a great improvement in miners' welfare. It was one of Britain's largest collieries until it was closed due to an underground fire.
