Post Office Staff, Byfield, Northamptonshire

The team of posties pose outside their office in their uniforms with their bikes and the post office dog. Urgent messages could be sent electronically by telegraph, the subsequent printed telegram delivered by hand to the receiver's door. This job was probably performed by the boy on the right in this picture and was the first form of e-mail.
