Richard II's Palace, Portchester Castle, Portchester, Hampshire

The outside of Richard II's palace. It was built as part of a reorganisation of the castle between 1396-99. Richard ordered the construction of a series of grand residental apartments for his use. The rooms included a kitch, pantry, Great Hall, several chambers and a chapel. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2011). Find out more.
