Robert Stephenson Memorial, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

This statue was built in 1862 by J.G. Lough. It shows the seated heroic figure of Robert Stephenson. The other figures on the corners of the statue represent spheres of Stephenson's activity: miner, locomotive engineer, blacksmith and bridge builder.
