Royal Ordnance Factory, Puriton, Somerset
The plant was constructed to manufacture high explosives and detonators during the Second World War. Since then the plant has been involved in the production of rocket motors and the high explosive HMX. In these tanks nitric and sulphuric acids are concentrated before they can be used to make explosives.
