St Mary's Abbey, Abbey Road, Leiston, Suffolk

Ruins of a Premonstratensian Abbey. The abbey was founded in 1182 and moved to this site in 1363. The remaining walls are made of coursed flint, with some re-used brick. To the south of the church are extensive standing remains of the monastic ranges, including a dining hall, warming house, cloister, sacristies and vestries. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010) and managed by Pro Corda Music School.
