St Peter's Church, Barton upon Humber, North Lincolnshire

The earliest parts of this church date back to Anglo Saxon times, the 9th century AD. They are some of the earliest and most interesting remains of Saxon architecture. The churchyard contains over 2,800 burials dating from Anglo Saxon to Victorian times. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010). Read detailed archaeological description.
