Statue of Sir Nicholas Conyingham Tindal, Essex

This was built in 1850 by E. H. Bailey. The statue is of Sir Nicholas Tindal. He was born in Chelmsford in 1776 and was educated at a Grammar School. He then became a rising political star, both as the Solicitor-General and Chief Justice of Common Pleas. He died in 1846.
