Stonehenge, Amesbury, Wiltshire

A view of Stonehenge from the south-east, looking over the ditch, bank, the Station Stone and towards the Sarsen circle. The henge is believed to have been built in circa 2,000 BC and undoubtedly had a religious or ceremonial significance. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
