Stretton on Fosse, Warwickshire

Stretton on Fosse is a typical Cotswold village. It lies along the Fosse Way, which was originally a Roman road. The photograph is carefully posed with a group of school boys sitting amongst the roots of a large tree which look ideal for hiding among. One of the 3 farm workers has a yoke across his shoulders. The 2 buckets are hanging from the yoke by chains. He may be selling milk in the village. The photograph is part of the P T Deakin collection.
