Sunderland Harbour Lighthouse, Tyne and Wear

The old lighthouse was built in 1856 by Thomas Meik and transferred to this site in 1983 when the pier was shortened. It is constructed of riveted wrought-iron plates and is in the shape of a Tuscan column. New piers were built between 1885 and 1907.
