The Castle, Ruyton XI Towns, Shropshire

These are the ruins of a medieval castle keep. The castle was built before 1148 and destroyed by the Welsh in 1212. It was perhaps not rebuilt until Edmund Earl of Arundel, bought it in 1302. It was again repaired in 1357. It is last mentioned in 1364 and probably went out of use soon afterwards.
