The Forge, Cockington, Torbay

The blacksmith is shoeing a horse outside the forge while other people watch. The Forge is set on crossroads in the centre of the village. It was probably built in the late 18th/early 19th century. It is probably built on the site of an earlier forge. Find out more about forges and other metal working industries in our Teachers' Kit - Forges and Foundries.
