Town Hall, Market Place, Glossop, Derbyshire

Glossop town hall, market hall and municipal buildings. The town hall dates from 1838 and was designed by Weightman and Hadfield for the 12th Duke of Norfolk. The central lantern was added in 1897. The shops on either side were part of the original design and had domed pavilions on either end. Only one of these was built and has now been demolished. The central arcade leads to the Market Hall built in 1844. Beyond that are the municipal buildings dating from 1923.
