Wigmore Castle, Wigmore, Herefordshire

An aerial view of the ruins of Wigmore Castle. The surviving ruins date from the 13th and 14th centuries but the castle has Norman origins. It was used to control the Welsh Marches until its gradual decay during the 16th century. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
