Windmill at Croft, Lincolnshire

This four storey tower mill and adjoining granary were built in 1814 for the milling of corn. A young miller has carved his name, age and the date on a beam in the mill. As an 18 year old he was presumably an apprentice to the miller. Find out more about windmills and watermills in our Teachers' Kit - Mills.
