Wrest Park, Silsoe, Bedfordshire

Wrest Park was built between 1834-39, approximately 300 metres North of the original house. It was designed by its owner, Thomas Philip 2nd Earl de Grey. The architect James Clephane was Clerk of Works. It was very unusual as it was built in French Louis XV style. The gardens are formal in style. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
