St Bartholomew's Church, Main Road, Covenham St Bartholomew, Louth, Lincolnshire LN11 0FF

This Grade II* church is late C14th cruciform structure, built of chalk and greensand block with significant re-patching in brickwork, with a wooden, slate dressed tower. The roofs are understood to have been restored in the mid C19th though there are signs of mediaeval beams. It is the most important historic building in the village. However, it has been redundant since the 1970s and significant areas are at risk. Thanks to an HE Covid-19 Emergency Heritage at Risk grant in 2020 the south transept roof was saved from potential collapse.

Opening Arrangements

The exterior is freely open to visitors at all times but the interior is currently closed for safety reasons.
