Former Roman Catholic church with attached monastic building, 1864-72 by E. W. Pugin for the Order of St Francis and considered one his finest masterpieces. Once included on the World Monuments Fund 100 most endangered sites, the building has been extensively restored and now operates as an events venue and sanctuary.

Opening Arrangements

Open 10am-4pm Sunday to Thursday, including café and gift shop. Private hire available after 4pm and on Friday and Saturday. The Monastery offers a variety of heritage, wellbeing and community activities - please see website for details.
