Church of St Peter, Gayhurst Court, Gayhurst - Milton Keynes (UA)
Renaissance design, built in 1728 for the Wrighte family. Only the crypt remains from the previous medieval church. Limestone with grey rusticated plinth with yellow ashlar above. Interior: ashlar stone above panelled dado, plaster ceilings. Nave walls of 5 bays with Corinthian pilasters. Two-stage west tower, arcaded cupola and ogee domed roof. Water penetrating cupola and tower resulting in timber decay of the structure. An application for a National Lottery Heritage Fund Grants for Places of Worship in 2017 was unsuccessful but these structural repair works remain urgent.
