Church of St Peter, Gayhurst Court, Gayhurst - Milton Keynes (UA)

Renaissance design, built in 1728 for the Wrighte family. Only the crypt remains from the previous medieval church. Limestone- with grey rusticated plinth with yellow ashlar above. Interior: ashlar stone above panelled dado, plaster ceilings. Nave walls of 5 bays with Corinthian pilasters. Two stage west tower, arcaded cupola and ogee domed roof. Water penetrating Cupola/ Tower resulting in timber decay of the structure. Structural repairs now urgent. An unsuccessful application for a Heritage Lottery Fund Grants for Places of Worship was made in 2017.
