Church of St Hugh and attached vestry, Monks Road, Lincoln - Lincoln

City centre church of 1892-3. Limestone with red sandstone details by Albert Vicars. There is a history of stone failure and the condition of masonry, particularly the spire, tower and pinnacles at the base of the spire is poor. Past inappropriate render repairs are failing and there have been several falls of masonry and render fragments. The proximity of the church to the pavement is a particular cause for concern. A scheme of repairs was tendered in early 2020 to inform an application to the National Lottery Heritage fund but the scheme was suspended in March due to Covid-19.
