Church of St Michael and All Angels, Lydbury North, Lydbury North - Shropshire (UA)

This C12 cruciform Church has a long nave with a slightly lower chancel, a consolidated west tower, a timber framed south porch and rebuilt transepts known as the Plowden Chapel (N) and the Walcot chapel (S). It was sensitively restored by JT Micklethwaite in 1901-2 and 1908. The walls are constructed in coursed rubble with red sandstone dressings: both nave and chancel walls are rendered. The roofs are mostly covered in sandstone flags laid in diminishing courses: those to the nave and chancel date from the last phase of restoration work and now require stripping and relaying again.
