Church of St Mary, Church Lane, Stoke-by-Nayland - Babergh

Parish church dating to C15, incorporating earlier work to the tower. Urgent structural issues had been identified, including instability of the south aisle and chancel wall tops, which had been propped. The PCC had been very successful in their fundraising which enabled the commencement of a significant repairs project. Unfortunately, during these repairs, additional unpredictable structural issues were discovered which would have severely undermined the whole project. An Historic England Repair Grant was offered in March 2023 and the project is now scheduled for completion by December 2023.
