Church of St John the Evangelist, St John Street, Mansfield - Mansfield
Large urban church in central Mansfield. Most of the church was built as a single design 1855-56 although the north porch is a later addition c1906. Following completion of development work, a National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant for Places of Worship was awarded for repairs to the nave roof in March 2016. The chancel and organ chamber/vestry roof are suffering from nail fatigue and there are several slipped slates and signs of water ingress internally. The tower and spire are in need of urgent repair. The structural integrity of the spire is of particular concern and it is being monitored.
