Church of St John on Bethnal Green, Cambridge Heath Road, Bethnal Green E2 - Tower Hamlets

The parish church of 1824 was designed by Sir John Soane and heavily restored and extended in the C19 by William Munday and GF Bodley. The church is built of London stock brick with artificial stone dressings and bell tower. Repairs to high-level stonework, complete in 2014, were grant aided by Historic England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Funding is being sought for a final phase of repairs to the nave roof, the interior of the narthex and the church steps.
