Church of St John the Baptist, Gravel Pit Lane, High Toynton - East Lindsey
Parish church of green sandstone rubble blocks and limestone ashlar dressings. Rebuilt in 1872 by Ewan Christian, re-using some mid C12 fragments. Nave with south-west porch tower, chancel with vestry. The nave roof has a number of slipped slates and requires repair and renewal, as do the rainwater goods. The tower has suffered with structural movement historically and there have been attempts to underpin the structure, however the tower collapsed in early 2020. A National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant was awarded in early 2022 for investigatory and repair works to the tower.
