Church of St Michael, The Street, Frinton and Walton - Tendring

A substantial late medieval church of flint and stone rubble, much restored in the C19. The building suffered from subsidence at the east end, now stabilised and being monitored. The tower turret stair has significant vertical cracks. The facework is loose and in need of urgent stabilisation. South face of tower cordoned off. Structural movement continues, with previously repaired areas cracking again. Monitoring, soil investigation and analysis have been carried out and repair options are being considered by the parochial church council.
