Church of St Swithun, Churchgate, East Retford - Bassetlaw
Church, C13 origins, with major rebuilding work in the 1650s following the collapse of the central tower. The church has been suffering from many leaks and was subject to heritage crime in 2018. Nave and aisle roof coverings were repaired with a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant in 2010 and a second phase of repairs to the transept roofs and tower was completed in 2014. Overhauling works to the chancel roof has recently been undertaken. Further masonry repairs, interior works and bell repairs are still required, and these will be carried out as funding avenues allow.
