Parish Church of St Leonard, Church End, Old Warden - Central Bedfordshire (UA)

Parish church, originally part of the endowment of Warden Abbey. C12 origins, predominantly C13, with C14, C15 and C16 details, reworked mid and late C19. Mainly of brown cobblestones with limestone dressings, later work in red brick and coursed limestone. Interior: C16, C17 and C18 carved woodwork, mainly Flemish and English, collected by Robert Henley 3rd Lord Ongley, installed 1841. All the roofs except the Chancel roof covering, are in a poor state. A merlon on the south side of the Tower collapsed. Dampness putting the interior fittings at risk. Repairs proposed and funding being sought
