Church of St Mary, Fore Street, North Petherton - Somerset Council (UA)

The church was mostly built in the late C14 and early C15 including the tower, in a Perpendicular style. Inside the tower at the height of the nave is a fine fan vault, unusual for a village church. The north aisle parapet and south aisle roof have been repaired with National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England Repair Grant for Places of Worship, completed in 2013. Further work to rainwater goods is now complete, funded by a Listed Places of Worship Roof Repairs Grant. Some unsafe stonework was removed by rope access masons in 2017, but the ornate tower is still in need of repair.
