Church of St Mary, Fore Street, North Petherton - Sedgemoor

The church was mostly built in the late C14 and early C15 including the tower, in a Perpendicular style. Inside the tower at the height of the nave is a fine fan vault, unusual for a village church. The north aisle parapet and south aisle roof have been repaired with a Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic England Repair Grant for Places of Worship, completed in 2013. Further work to rainwater goods is now complete, funded by a Listed Places of Worship Roof Repairs Grant. The tower stonework is also in need of repair; some unsafe parts removed and set aside by rope access masons in 2017.
