Church of St Clement, Wisbech Road, Outwell - King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Parish church. C13 west tower: Nave and south aisles remodelled C15. Chancel C15; rebuilt in 1853. North transept chapel 1527; church restored 1887. Constructed mainly of Barnack and Ragstone with brick north transept. Nave roof of alternating hammer beams and tie beams, the former with carved angels. Tie beams drop onto wall posts with carved braces. Roof is at imminent risk of loss due to extensive action by wood-boring insects and this puts at risk the interior as well as a late medieval roof of high quality known provenance. Funding required for major repairs.
