Church of St Andrew, Main Street, Owston and Newbold - Harborough

Church including remains of the former Augustinian Priory at Owston. C13 or earlier, C14 and later fabric. Restored 1861. Fair order generally but spire top appears to be jacking, possibly due to failing embedded ironwork. There is longstanding movement in a southern buttress and some masonry needs repairing, especially in the vicinity of leaking rainwater goods. Some plant growth is taking hold around defective rainwater goods. A specification is to be prepared to inform grant funding bids. Recipient of Historic England Covid 19 Emergency Heritage at Risk Response Fund award in 2020.
