Church of St Andrew, Main Street, Owston and Newbold - Harborough

St Andrew's church includes the remains of the former Augustinian Priory at Owston. The fabric is C13 or earlier with some C14 and Perpendicular features. Restored in 1861. Though in fair order generally, masonry repairs are needed generally and particularly where there are defective rainwater goods. Spire masonry appears to be 'jacking'; possibly on account of failing embedded ironwork and there's some longstanding movement in a south facing buttress. Some plant growth is taking hold around defective rainwater goods. Grant funding options to address these defects are being explored.
