Battersea Park Station, Battersea Park Road SW8 - Wandsworth
Italianate style station built circa 1865 for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. Alterations to the train service mean that the architecturally significant Platform 1 is redundant. Repair works are complete, but the building remains underused. A legal agreement with Network Rail for a scheme of works was secured in 2018. In 2019 applications were approved for conversion of the former station master’s accommodation into offices, and this work is also complete. Discussions about the wider station site, a new use for Platform 1, disability access and improved facilities are underway.
