Battersea Park Station, Battersea Park Road SW8 - Wandsworth
Italianate style railway station built circa 1865 for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. Alterations to the train service mean that the architecturally significant platform 1 is now redundant. Repair works are complete, but the building remains underused. A legal agreement with Network Rail over a scheme of works was secured in 2018. Plans for the wider station site are now under discussion, including a new use for platform 1, disability access and improved facilities. In 2019 applications were approved for conversion of the former station master’s accommodation into offices.
