Hydraulic silo, 70 metres east of Cragend Farmhouse, Cartington - Northumberland (UA)

Experimental hydraulic silo, circa 1895, by Lord Armstrong. Linear plan comprising a rectangular silage bay on each side of a taller cross-gabled centre. The interior contains a hydraulic engine and turbine. Repairs have been completed to the roof of the central section. A further phase of works is required to bring the external envelope back into full repair. Options are being explored for the building's repair and potential use.
