Maker Heights Barracks Block, Maker-with-Rame - Cornwall (UA)

Built 1804-1808 as a barracks for a line of earlier redoubts built to protect Devonport Dockyard in 1782. The two-storey block was altered in the mid C19 when the formerly tile-hung first floor was rebuilt in brick. It is the most complete small garrison barracks from this significant period. Partially repaired and in use as a community art centre. A phased scheme of window repairs is now being undertaken with Historic England grant aid.
