Hampton Waterworks, the Beam and Store Buildings to the west of the Beam, Upper Sunbury Road - Richmond upon Thames

Water treatment works by engineer Joseph Quick for Southwark and Vauxhall Water Company,1853-1855, extended 1881-1882 by Alexander Frazer. Originally built as separate engine houses and known as 'The Beam' (west end) and 'The Bull' (east end) from the type of engines they housed. Vacant and derelict for over a decade, extensive woody vegetation threatens the stonework and broken windows allow rain and pigeon entry. The Local Authority and Historic England are in pre-application discussions with the owners regarding conversion to residential and office accommodation.
