FORD HETHERSLAW NT 93 NW 10/119 High Kiln with attached Gift Shop at Hetherslaw Mill GV II
Former corn-drying kiln with attached stores, now used for shop and storage. C18, altered early c19. Rubble with dressings, patched in places with old brick; pantiled roof.
Kiln to right has boarded door on ground floor. Boarded double doors to storage on left. Gabled roof with flat coping. Left gable has tumbled-in brickwork with wood dovecote screen.
To rear, lst-floor entry to drying chamber of kiln: boarded door with alternating-block surround in gabled half dormer.
Interior of kiln has iron beams of former drying floor.
