wall GV II Country house and attached boundary wall. c1870, incorporating
part of an earlier building. Yellow brick with stone dressings
and slate roof. Gothic Revival style. Plinth, notched eaves
and traceried bargeboards to main gables. 2 side wall and 2
valley stacks. Windows have hood moulds. 2 storeys plus
garrets; 3x4 bays. Double gabled entrance front has a central
parapeted 2-storey porch with a plain sash, flanked by single
sashes with Gothic glazing bars. Above, to left, a similar
smaller sash and to right, a plain sash. Below, central Gothic
porch with octagonal pilasters and coped parapet. Tudor arched
doorway, and beneath it, half-glazed door with Gothic
overlight. To left, a sash with Gothic glazing bars and to
right a blank window. Triple gabled garden front has a wing to
left with a Gothic sash and beyond it, a similar sash. To
right, a triple casement with stepped head, and to its right,
a triple cross casement. Above, the wing has a smaller sash,
and to its right, a triple cross casement. Below, the wing has
a larger Gothic sash in a four-centred arched recess. To its
left, a similar sash with flat head. To right, a French
window, and to right again, a canted stone bay window with
cross casements. Irregular rear elevation has to right a main
block with quoins. Attached brick boundary wall, to north
west, has flat stone coping and a gate to the left.
