Farmhouse. Probably late C17, partially remodelled c.1700 and extended mid-to late C18 with later additions and alterations. Red brick; hipped plain tile roof. Basic L-plan with short range to north, probably developing from twin-gabled C17 house given hipped roof c.1700. 2 storeys and attics with floor band to first floor and chamfered and stepped plinth. Garden front: 5 windows, wooden cross windows with leaded lights and gauged heads to first floor and to centre bay on ground floor; glazing bar sashes with gauged heads to 2 right bays on ground floor and C20 French window with rectangular barred overlight to first bay from left. Red brick ridge stack to right of centre and rebuilt external lateral stack to left. Right return has blind window on each floor to left of wall (see below) with straight joint above; narrow window immediately to left of wall on first floor. Section to right has 3 segmental-headed windows to first floor, left C19, centre blind and right C20; 3 segmental-headed windows to ground floor, C20 casements to left and right, blind to centre. C20 segmental-headed boarded door to left, immediately to right of wall. East side has massive extruded external stack with 4 attached and rebated shafts and 2 pointed openings to top; infilled arch of former bread oven to right face. Segmental-headed C20 casement on each floor to left and hip-roofed dormer in roof slope. Mainly segmental-headed C19 casements to side facing farmyard with probably C17 carved doorway under red brick and regularly coursed and dressed red sandstone block porch with ramped coping. Short stretch of red brick wall with sandstone coping attached to porch has reused datestone, superscribed "FLL/1700". Garden wall attached to house at straight joint of right return. Probably c.1700. Red brick with sandstone coping, buttressed to outside. Encloses an area of approximately 50 x 30m to west of house with C20 farmbuilding (not of special interest) abutting its north side. Small single-storey hip-roofed outbuilding with lean-to to right in angle with garden front is probably late C18. Interior. Small room behind French window has small C17 rectangular oak panelling and room to right has large rectangular oak panelling. Plain marble fireplaces to either side of ridge stack probably C19. Large inglenook fireplace with chamfered wooden lintel to external stack on east wall. Late C17 dog-leg staircase with carved splat vase-shaped balusters and moulded handrail rises from ground floor to attic with initials "FLL" carved on handrail from ground floor to first floor. Steep, narrow straight-flight back staircase. Timber frame exposed throughout to cross walls: square and rectangular panels, some with wattle and daub infill exposed. Plank and panelled doors with H-and L-hinges throughout and wide boarded oak floor boards to first floor and attic. Attic has C17 collar and tie beam trusses to rear part of house and C18 collar and tie beam trusses over remodelled C18 garden front.
