Milestone. Early C19. Cast iron. Plain rectangular tablet on a moulded plinth, hipped cap all cast as one item. Raised lettering to North side; "Bath 10 Miles". For Black Dog Turnpike Trust, established road c1777. (O Bryan Morland, An Introduction To The Infastructure Of The Industrial Revolution In Somerset 1982; Robin Athill, Old Mendip, 1971).
