Wrexon Farmhouse II Possibly longhouse, now dwelling. C16, south gable end extended or rebuilt C17-C18 when
converted to domestic use, C18 alterations north end, refenestrated late C19-early C20.
Roughcast over cob with sections rebuilt in rubble, slate roof, roughcast stacks. Plan:
4-cell and cross passage, suggested longhouse with byre end rebuilt, or extended 3-cell
and cross passage farmhouse. Two storeys, 5 bays, plinth to 4-bays left, wall breaks
forward end bay right, central bays partly rebuilt, 2 and 3-light casements except for
small glazed opening above gabled entrance porch. Rear elevation pronounced recesses in
wall adjoining rear entrance to cross passage, 3-light octagonal mullioned window.
Interior: cob cross passage wall right rising through roof, beyond right inserted C18
brick fireplace, chamfered lintel to cross passage fireplace, blocked oven against
facade wall, peaked doorframe, winder stair against rear wall, 4-panel steeply chamfered
compartment ceiling, stud and plank screen with entrance resited; one jointed cruck
truss visible above stud and plank screen, with numerous changes of floor level on upper
