II*
Church. 1869-75 by William Butterfield, chancel added c1881 by
WC Street. Brown brick with red and black diaper, stone and
red brick bands and dressings. Decorated Gothic style with
4-bay nave, north and south aisles and chancel. Gabled west
end with 5-light tracery window; bellcote over porch to right.
Cornice below parapet to nave with massive gargoyles.
Buttressed aisles. 5-light tracery window with hoodmould to
chancel. Spire not executed.
INTERIOR: of stock brick with diaper work, bands of red brick
and white stone, and flecks of black. Fine double-framed
collar-braced roof above deep clerestory. Chancel arch with
double ogee rood beam. C15 Nottingham alabaster panel
representing St Arthmael let into column. Octagonal font.
