4/10001 Granary immediately east of Limetree Farmhouse

GV II

Granary cum cartshed flanked by small towers. Circa early C19. Towers of flint with brick dressings. Granary timber-flamed and weatherboarded, flint and brick ground floor rear wall. Pantile roofs. 7-bay cartshed with granary above flanked by short 2-storey masonry towers square in plan with pyramidal roof to easternmost and hipped to westernmost. Octagonal samson posts supporting principal joists with arched braces rising to eaves. Towers with plain dentil cornices. East tower has a cart entrance with loft door above and west tower with doorway and loft doorway above. Later sloping buttress to north side of west tower. Granary loft is suspended under roof over cartshed with louvred sides and staircase at centre.
