Two short chest and one pedestal tombs. Late C18, early C19.
Stone. Southernmost, pedestal tomb; James Barrett died 1818, wife
1837, latter date more likely for monument. Square reeded dome,
swept down to step, moulded edge to lid; raised rim to rectangular
sides; plain circular corner columns, without capitals or bases;
plain plinth. Nearly identical to J. Barrett, died 1841 (q.v.).
North-western, John Burnett, died 1781; flat lid, moulded edge,
indented corners. Sides and ends sunk line to edge rectangle, with
heavily scalloped corners: ends indented; moulded plinth now sunk
into ground. Some italic lettering, long 'S'; earlier deaths
recorded. North-eastern: Eliza, wife of John Burnett, died 1793.
Flat lid, moulded edge, slightly indented corners. North side
fielded panel with shaped head, egg and dart moulding; south
rectangular panel with similar moulding. Pilaster ends, sunk
circle on stem west end, urn on east. Moulded base.
