House. Early C19, with north range added in mid or late C19. Solid, rendered walls, probably of stone. Asbestos-slated roofs. 2 rendered chimneystacks (rebuilt) to left and right of centre gable. Double depth plan, with entrance in centre of south-east side. 2 storeys. Main fronts to south-east and south-west designed in a Tudor style with hood-moulds to the windows and frilly bargeboards to the gables. Rear of house is standard plain early C19. The older part of the south-west front, to right, is 2-windows wide, the left-hand window set in a gabled projection with bargeboards of open tracery having a pendant at the apex. In the ground storey of this projection is a canted bay window with pent roof. The bay appears in an early drawing of the house, but not its windows. These consist of French windows in the centre, each leaf of 3 panes, with a 2-light fanlight over; side-windows are of 2 panes with a transom-light at the top. Second-storey window is original, with 2 mullioned-and-transomed lights under a straight hood-mould. The right-hand second-storey window is similar to this, as is the ground-storey window beneath it, except that the latter contains French windows. These may be original, since the early drawing shows a single-storeyed lattice-work verandah against that part of the house. To the left of this front is the later addition, 1 window wide under a gable with shaped bargeboards; it has a C20 bay window rising through 2 storeys. The south-east front is virtually unaltered, except that 3 windows appear to have been blocked. The front is 3 windows wide, the left-hand window set in the projecting gable-end of the south-east range, the gable being finished with open-traceried bargeboards like those on the adjoining front. All the windows have straight hood-moulds, the middle second-storey window and the right-hand ground-storey window having 2 lights with wood mullions and transoms. The left-hand window in each storey, and the right-hand window in the second storey, are blind. The doorway, off-centre to left, has an elegant gabled wood porch in Tudor style. Slender paired shafts, their heads joined by open quatrefoil panels, support a 4-centred arch with open tracery above; the gable has decorated bargeboards and a finial. The door is studded and panelled in the lower part, with C20 glazing above. Right-hand side of front has stringcourse between storeys. Interior not inspected.
