3/16 Coronation Stone

GV II

Stone dated 1911 erected to commemorate the coronation of George V. Tall roughly- dressed monolithic granite post standing approximately 2.2m high. The front is inscribed GRV, 22.vi.1911. The rear has been inscribed to commemorate the Jubilee of Elizabeth II. A length of cast iron is set into the top. It might have been the base of a lamp holder or a sign-post.
